Once upon a time, Trump took out full-page advertisements in all 4 of New York's major newspapers demanding that the Central Park Five (now known as the Exonerated Five) get the death penalty. Trump empathises with the Cornell rapists because he's a rapist whose name is all over the Epstein Files.

From Etihad's "RESPONSE TO CLAIMS RAISED ABOUT STATE-OWNED AIRLINES" filed with the US gov. in 2015. "The assertion that the Abu Dhabi government paid for Etihad’s sponsorship of English Premier League football club Manchester City is [...] false".
The assertion that the Abu Dhabi government paid for Etihad’s sponsorship of English Premier League football club Manchester City is equally false. In 2011, Etihad and Manchester City entered into a 10 year sponsorship agreement, which included naming rights for Manchester City’s stadium. Etihad funded this sponsorship from its own liquidity. It is not uncommon for airlines to have sponsorships with sports teams and their venues.

I thought that British news networks would know better by now than to book Suella Braverman and give her a platform to spew white supremacist poison. At first I though she was a self-hating idiot doing a bit for clicks. Now? She genuinely thinks Englishness = whiteness. That's dangerous and vile.

I actually find the opening to this the most fascinatingly unhinged moment "why are the English the only group of people on the Earth who can't define themselves," is an argument that just does not hold up to a second's thought? Is Kylian Mbappe not French because his dad was Cameroonian?

First came: "We're innocent. We're going to appeal this" Then: "We have secret evidence proving our innocence" Then: "By the way, Khaldoon has diplomatic immunity" Then: "Etihad Airways is considering suing the EPL" And now: "The UAE might end future investment in the UK" State ownership. 🤢

"They consider the Premier League’s actions to have an influence on the bilateral state relationship, the people said, asking not to be identified discussing undisclosed information" State ownership should be illegal. Man City can't avoid punishment because the UAE is threatening to end trad deals.

I don't even want to call this a saga. It was a prolonged argument that was always going to end with Jalen Duren taking long-term guaranteed money over a qualifying offer. No agent worth a damn would allow him to leave $200M sitting on the table. Duren and Cade need a few more years together.

Other than throwing heavy charges that stick at fascist grifters like Palmer Luckey, Don Jr., and Pete Hegseth, the quickest way to ensure this never happens again is the general populace shunning and stigmatising them so severely that they're legitimately afraid to show their faces in public.

Very interesting, but debatable take. In global terms, despite the glut of titles*, Man City are now tainted to such an extent that their commercial value will have nosedived anyway; and it's not as if the PL would suddenly lose its main/only locomotive, like Serie A did when Juve were demoted.

It's a very good question, because when normal people cheat HMRC out of tax revenue, they get serious charges thrown at them. With the way Khaldoon and City's hierarchy are acting, it wouldn't shock me if they tried claiming that Manchester City has diplomatic immunity via being owned by the UAE.

So after years of insisting to the point of demanding corrections of anyone saying Manchester City is owned by the UAE and not a private investment of “his highness” sheikh Mansour, City will now insist in its appeal that City is actually owned by the UAE. Riiiggghhht then. 🥸

Nobody in the Manchester City hierarchy should ever work in football again. Ferran Soriano can't hide behind lawyers and "no comment" forever. Long-time City fans deserve better than evasion, delays, lies, and talking points. British journalists door-stepping Khaldoon is firmly on the table. #MCFC

When Manchester City have the book thrown at them, this will be a big reason why. The contempt that the Abu Dhabi Group have shown for the Premier League's rules, regulations, and financial guardrails is overwhelming. Even when they're eventually forced out, the club's reputation is destroyed.

If we're being completely honest, deep down Manchester City fans had to have known about the double contract Roberto Mancini was on. Those bespoke designer suits (and shoes!) of his weren't paying for themselves. He wore a different one every week for nearly three and a half years.

The most frightening aspect of the RAF Fairford security incident is how fast the worst people imaginable (Trump, Rupert Lowe, Nigel Farage, etc.) started screaming about Iran, Muslims, invading foreigners, and the usual white supremacist bile. They genuinely don't care about facts. Just clicks.
