My horse is seriously the stall cleaner's favorite. 10/10 neatest horse I've ever know. HE is covered in mud and likes it, but he absolutely keeps a spotless stall/run.
The end of a stall and run for a horse. Said horse has neatly deposited multiple poos in one pile and has a pee spot off in the corner. Ignore the fence he's destroyed. He's NEAT.

If I were in charge: it would be illegal to call something by a material that is less than 50% of the content. If your shirt is 60% polyester and 30% wool it should be illegal to call it a "wool shirt." No sir, that's a polyester shirt with a little wool of funsies.

Come on, if you are teaching a class and you want the instructors to meet BEFOREHAND then put a waiting room on your Zoom room please so your students don't just awkwardly drop into the teaching discussion because we're habitually early? Waiting rooms exist for a reason!

Authors: please for the love of GOD have a horse gal read your draft if horses are going to figure heavily. I can tell this author learned about horses from old Western movies and vibes? A rider (not cart driver) just "flicked the reins to get them moving." 🤦‍♀️ And that's kinda the least bad?

Look, I know this is psychoanalytic as fuck but, "seems we're all wishing for a different, better past?" really is the crux of it, really. A bitter truth of adulthood: none of us makes it out of childhood/adolescence unscathed.

Years ago elderly parishioner told me if you are coughing at night & can't sleep put Vicks on the soles of your feet, and warm socks on. And EVERY TIME I've done it I've been convinced she was full of it, but EVERY TIME it works. Thank you once again ma'am.

Snagged the new Jonathon Brooks/Klik fountain pen. Jonathon literally helped me rehab my first fountain pen back before he was making blanks and I'm such a fan, and Klik pens? I honestly don't really like most modern fountain pens I LOVE their little pens such great writers.

Who has solid, recent, peer reviewed reports about the amount of water data centers use and how it exits the drinkable water cycle? I have a tech guy yelling it's a lie and "makes no sense." I'm so bloody tired y'all.

Unreasonable ask: everyone masks all the time. Abstinence-only makes us less healthy. But what are some more reasonable asks? 1. No bothering people who are choosing to mask for whatever reason! 2. Mask in public if you or anyone in your household have the sniffles or other cold symptoms.

Thing I do not understand about running vest ads. The folks touting that they can stash their rain jacket in a side pocket and pull it out "without taking the vest off!" Y'all my rain jacket doesn't fit OVER MY VEST so I'm gonna have to take the vest off??? Are these folks buying jackets 3x too big?

G*($)@*()#@. I went 5 years without a single illness. I go two TWO in person therapy networking events without a mask this year and get a cold after BOTH of them. Guess I'm back to always masking indoors and we could have upgraded air filtration, done actual mitigation of disease, but nooooooo

This is beautifully said & incredibly important. Meeting people where they are with the very, very specific problems they face every day, especially the "small stuff" (which never is small, when summed up), and offering concrete action on them, should be politics at least as much as everything else.

May this year bring us deeper into relationship with one another. May each of us do the work to open our hearts more widely to our family, our friends, our neighbors, and those we will never meet and whose experiences we only barely know. May all of this bring peace.

Posting instead of reposting cause snarky dude entirely missed the real point: white men invented the "laws of nature" in their own image: competition, individualism, and self interest and over and over again the natural world tries to show us those aren't laws, they're bias.

"Remember, said God, that I am / becoming what I am becoming, as are you..." We Are Verbs: a poem for the Days of Awe by Blaze Ardman. (Which we prayed at #Selichot tonight at my shul.)
I asked God what I can do to
improve myself and the world.

The Source of Consciousness
blessed me with an answer.

Remember, God said, that I am
becoming what I am becoming, as are you.
Know that from each fresh moment to the next,
you are born and reborn again.
We are verbs, you and I, said God.
Kindness is a verb. When you do kindness,
you give wings to hope;
Compassion is a verb. When you do compassion,
you activate the energy of empathy;
Generosity is a verb.
When you do generous, you raise the vibration of gratitude;
Listening is a verb.
When you do listening, you awaken understanding;
Peace is a verb.
When you do peace, the energy of wisdom reverberates;
Stillness is a verb.
When you do stillness, the energy of faith is restored;
Prayer is a verb.
When you do prayer, the energy of joy, healing potential, and return ignites.

May you be blessed to know that your seemingly small acts
kindle everlasting flames of love, goodness, repair.
May you be blessed to know
You are the redeemed and the redeemer
You are the blessed and the blessing
You are the lover and the beloved.
And so together,
we are the unbounded light of consciousness,
the unending essence of divine spark,
life unfolding through eternity.
May you be so blessed.

Blaze Ardman

Let’s not forget what Ursula K. Le Guin had to say about JKR and Harry Potter.
Remember when Ursula K. Le Guin savaged J.K. Rowling in a 2004 Guardian interview?

“I have no great opinion of [JK Rowling’s writing style]. When so many adult critics were carrying on about the “incredible originality” of the first Harry Potter book, I read it to find out what the fuss was about, and remained somewhat puzzled; it seemed a lively kid’s fantasy crossed with a ‘school novel’, good fare for its age group, but stylistically ordinary, imaginatively derivative, and ethically rather mean-spirited.”
