These are not products of an effective design process. Instead of starting with a purpose and finding the best way to satisfy it they are starting with a behemoth existing material and desperately trying to find ways to make it useful. This is anti-design.

My neighbor told me his AI company keep eating all his investors’ capital so I asked how much capital he has and he said he just goes to the market and gets more capital so I said it sounds like he’s just feeding institutional investors to AI then his CFO started crying.

We, being decent people, hate self-promotion because we are enlightened beings whose work speaks for itself and will surely be recognized in our lifetimes. Right? NO! And the assholes who are naturals at it are ruining the world, so learn how to get good at that part.

A thing I learned about Meta when I was trying to understand how their statements relate to their actions a few years ago is that *they just tell absolutely indefensible lies* and journalists almost always let them. They believed no one would ever punish them for it in any way that matters.

They're literally doing this
A classic New Yorker cartoon. In the middle is a campfire, in the background the wasteland of what appears to have been a thriving city.

To the left of the fire is a man, wearing a suit. The suit is ripped and shredded in places, as the apocalypse has not been kind; he remains committed to wearing the tie. Opposite the man are three small children, equally bedraggled, expressionless, cold and probably starving.

The man is telling a story and has an almost wistful look, recalling a halcyon time. It's clear the man was someone important, or at least rich, which to his mind is the same thing. The quote below the scene reads:

"Yes, the planet got destroyed, but for a beautiful moment in time we created a lot of value for shareholders."

Some unintended consequences I suspect the rise of AI agents will create: 1. Restaurants that only take reservations by hand written letter, or more likely, don't take them at all. 2. Gigs where you can only buy tickets in person. 3. Businesses that operate without websites.

The obvious solution is to just ban the gambling apps but I'm pretty sure that's how we end up with President Dave Portnoy so I propose we tax their revenue at 100% for every dollar over $1,000 they make off a gambler.

IMO one of the most important local elections in the country (boltsmag.org/prosecutor-a...)
"Long before Trump began sowing unfounded doubts about the 2020 presidential race, Republicans in Tarrant County, home to Fort Worth, were notorious for their selective enforcement of election laws and for the harsh prosecution of Crystal Mason, a woman who mistakenly thought she could vote while on probation and was sentenced years in prison.

DA Phil Sorrells, who came into office after the 2022 midterms, has continued that legacy. He helped launch a task force to police local elections, and he continued to prosecute Mason even after an appeals court overturned her conviction in 2024. This fall, he filed criminal charges against Lon Burnam, a former state lawmaker who was expelled from a public meeting and forcibly arrested for speaking out against a GOP plan to dramatically reduce polling places.

Sorrells faces Democratic challenger Tiffany Burks in a competitive rematch of their 2022 election. Burks, who has worked as a prosecutor in the office, has signaled a very different direction from Sorrells on such cases. “We are talking about a county where they are doing everything that they can to suppress the vote,” she said in an interview last month.

She is currently representing Burnam in court, and she said last month that her “first item on business” as DA would be to drop the county’s efforts to reinstate Mason’s conviction. (That won’t be necessary after all: Texas’ highest criminal court ruled in favor of Mason and against Sorrells on Sept. 24, upholding Mason’s 2024 acquittal.)"

I came up with some more inane bullshit for everyone to argue about!
(September 23, 2026 at 10:44am)
Fake opinions to argue over…
- Never turn left on a first date.
- Every kindergarten student should have an unpaid internship.
- The periodic table is too sexual.
- Bigfoot should be allowed to vote.
- Having a dream is the same as reading a book.
- You can wear a crop top to a funeral if the deceased person was hot when they died.

ANTIFLOCK ACTION on Unisex T-Shirt – A spectre is haunting your neighborhood.
