The reason people love the Ea-nāṣir story is less the vitriol and more the fact that we couldn’t be more culturally different from a 4000 years dead Sumerian but we can totally relate. It shows us that no matter our superficial differences people are just people.

This is your occasional reminder that generative "AI" in particular could have been developed on public domain materials and/or licensed and compensated works but the major players intentionally, methodically and systemically chose to steal labor from working creative folks instead

the problem with the way predominantly straight people do music events is that they see loudness and huge subwoofers as a virtue. the entirety of the music's feeling gets muddled and all you're left with is a sensation of BRRRRR even when the moment would be right. 2026 the loudness war never ended.

Every piece I read from the ex-Starmer crew has the same flavour- a bleeding over of their distaste for other more socially liberal colleagues in the Labour Party, which has been retro-fitted into an entire explanation for how politics should work, even as it failed when actually tested.

If "legitimate concerns" were considered to excuse illegitimate methods, then nobody from Just Stop Oil or Palestine Action would have been arrested. So we know it doesn't. In fact that phrase is only ever used in one context. Only in that context is uniformed mob intimidation "peaceful protest"
