i think the funniest fighting game balance change ive ever seen is in the formerly-rare umk3 wavenet rather than removing the base umk3 infinites by nerfing chars, instead they kept them in but added a cap to total moves in a combo. if u try to infinite still, the game makes fun of you, LOOOL

Mickey Mouse Mystery Magazine An overly-ambitious project that built on the Italian characterisation and interpretation of Mickey Mouse, that was sadly kneecapped by Disney USA and only ran for 12 issues with a very abrupt ending. Still, this noir and adventurous Mickey will always be beloved.

The final boss of Summon Night Swordcraft Story 3 resists flinching and requires destroying its 300HP sword to kill it for good, so it can't quite be cheesed with arrows. Always loved how they ended the series with the only boss that enforced the weapon breaking mechanic. Very fun videogame.

I feel like half the websites I visit now have "are you a human?" captcha checks before it'll let me access the site and this is why. Mobygames in particular has become almost unusable because its AI detection has a hair trigger and if you browse too much too quickly you get banned for 30 minutes.

didn't wanna do this but this was mainly inspired by my anger at how some dipshit on r/Wonderswan is spamming Clood slop translations of nearly every WS game known to man (without testing them), including Romancing Saga Using the script of a person who recently passed away yeah fuck you buddy

The English script is based on the SNES English translation of Romancing SaGa by DDSTranslation (v1.2, 2016): Japanese to English translation by Eien Ni Hen, programming by DDSTranslation, special thanks to Alex W. Jackson. That patch is in turn based on the 1998 Trans-Dimension translation by Shujin-Rik, Hakai and Musashi, with F.H. (Frank Hughes), Tamahome, Hoky and MakoKnight. Their lines were matched to the WonderSwan script and adapted where the remake changed or added text; the scenes that exist only on WonderSwan were translated from the Japanese. All credit for the original English goes to them.

Credits to no-one since the translator's moral heirs have decided that her work must remain untouched and unused forever. So, you'll soon have a new AI-only version—that way, at least they will only complain about the supposedly terrible translation.

Remember when Crunchyroll tried to make their subtitles significantly worse a year ago? They backtracked on it at the time, but I suspected they were just delaying their plans to shift from Aegisub to OOONA, and sadly, it seems I was right: Crunchyroll is actively pushing OOONA subs to users now.
