Something a little different for GTW. John Hardie got in touch after uncovering original FlexiCAD vector drawings for Atari's unreleased Jaguar/CD combination console on an old Atari floppy disk. We've added a quick entry and the surviving design images: www.gamesthatwerent.com/2026/09/atar...

A little Commodore 64 preservation today with an early prototype of Scooby Doo and Scrappy Doo from 1991 added to Games That Weren't. Likely a progress build, there's no sound and potentially a few differences to the final game. www.gamesthatwerent.com/2026/09/scoo...

The ONLY offical unreleased version of Cookie for the BBC Micro - leaked copies did appear. This is Paul Proctor's original dev disk for Cookie. He converted the game in his own time and approached Ultimate to see if they would publish it. They declined as the game was too old at that point.

Just heard the very sad news that a former Software Creations friend passed away recently. All of his friends knew him as 'Bone'. He was a friendly, fun, knowledgeable guy who started in QA at Creations back in the early 90s, and was recently working on Star Citizen. RIP @bone6502.bsky.social

Learned about that demo the other day, and decided to do up a cart pic for it #pixelart #atari2600
pixel art of a Vidtec/US Games cartridge for City By The Lake. The included screenshot depicts an orange city skyline and its reflection against blue water, as well as a small plane flying above. Text down the side of the label reads "For use with Atari VCS or Sears Video Arcade", "8 game modes", and "See guide for details". Text along the end reads "Taiwan" and "c 1981 US Games"
