"What? Filing a lawsuit with the Supreme Court?" It's rare. But when states are bitch slapping each other, that's how it gets sorted. Abortion-ban states are really angry that abortion-friendly states won't extradite doctors providing care to patients in the ban states. Shit just got real.

Louisiana is comparing abortion pills to anthrax and fentanyl because they view embryos as legal people. Claims this is a reason the Supreme Court should take the challenge to abortion shield laws. I've seen fentanyl comparison before but not anthrax... www.ag.state.la.us/Files/Articl...
If New York, Massachusetts, and California had
erected laws encouraging their residents to ship fenta-
nyl or anthrax to addresses in Plaintiff States, there is
no question that Plaintiff States would have textbook
quasi-sovereign interests in challenging those laws—
for the very lives and health of their citizens would be
at stake. That is exactly the case here: Plaintiff States
protect unborn babies from the moment of conception.
Thus, every unborn baby whose life is terminated—
like every woman or girl who faces pain and suffer-
ing—is valued and protected in Plaintiff States. Cf. Al-
fred L. Snapp & Son, Inc., 458 U.S. at 607 (“One help-
ful indication in determining whether an alleged in-
jury to the health and welfare of its citizens suffices to
give the State standing to sue as parens patriae is
whether the injury is one that the State, if it could,
would likely attempt to address through its sovereign
lawmaking powers.”)

Twice in the last few weeks, friends have commented how thoughtful it is of us to have crafted this peephole in the blinds for our cats on the staircase landing. But that was the work of orange tabby, Junior, who laboriously crafted it over a period of weeks. Just enough to see out.
A set of blinds, closed, with just a small square notched out at cat height

This morning on walkies, I saw a young teen skipping joyfully across the street. A few blocks later, a middle aged man dropped something in the street, smoothly bent down to grab it without stopping, then skipped the rest of the way across the street as if choreographed. Am I an extra in a musical?

That post was about the WNBA team I’d hoped to follow to their 5th championship, but this one is about Gerald, who was in rough shape when he got here back in 2023 and who I did not expect to be in such hearty shape this far out. Gerald in 2!

First KARE11 relegates Jana Shortal to digital-only, and then follows that by using harmful, transphobic language in reporter Gordon Severson's coverage of two civil rights cases. What is going on over there?! The story is quoted in Ethan's post. It takes just a minute to reach out to the station.
