bomb!

A stylized illustration of Reze from Chainsaw Man. She's nude, her whole body forming a graceful arc from her thrown back head to her curved and twisting waist, looking over her shoulder at the viewer and stretching out a hand towards them. Her other hand pulls the grenade pin at her neck, and a riot of warm colors erupt in spiky brush strokes from that point, along with concentric white circles implying a sort of shockwave. The shadows on her body are deep purple and blue, the highlights on her skin pure white. Rake brushes and a small crunchy pen brush are exclusively used to render everything.

There's no other version of this, but if you wanna support me on Patreon so I can keep making cool art (and check out the hundreds of other posts I have on there), please consider pledging at www.patreon.com/akairiot. Thank you!!

Reze is such a cool character...

'storytelling medium' is a normative term that reduces any art form to a mere vector for implicit true art of writing a good plot

haibane renmei is kind of perfectly made for ex christian girls who are upset by a lot of the particulars of how sin and the afterlife are supposed to work but still find the imagery and some of the broader ideas about redemption and souls comforting (me)

i like when superheroes wear a costume and fight some guys but that ends up being the worst part of 90 percent of superhero movies bc nobody knows how to direct action. having something that focuses so much on dialogue that engages fully with the world and concepts feels like a breath of fresh air

Hate it when you see what you think is a cool bird and you look it up later and it’s called like the Common Dumb Asshole. “Birders throughout history have hated its guts. It can’t even fly right.” I thought I saw an interesting guy.

Super Mario Sunshine is surprisingly more realistic than later Mario games in one specific aspect: here, Mario will start drowning if he hangs on to a ledge in such a way that water is flowing into his nose and mouth, as one would in real life.

Observe Mario holding on to a ledge that water is flowing over in Super Mario Galaxy (left) and Super Mario Odyssey (right). If realistic physics applied, he should start drowning since his nostrils and mouth are covered by water flowing into them.
However, in these games the air depletion/drowning state is tied to the swimming animation. As long as Mario is not visibly swimming, he cannot be drowning even if he is covered by water.
In Super Mario Sunshine, however, air depletion is decoupled from swimming as an action, allowing Mario to realistically start drowning in this situation (note him flashing red and his air meter depleting).
However, he is saved by Sunshine's (also unique among 3D Mario platformers) ledge tiredness mechanic. After hanging on for 20 seconds, Mario will let go. This is also realistic, since why would he let himself drown?

Probably a sign I need more sleep that I keep laughing at this Lego manual page. Instruction: Block. You need: Block. Step 1: Have Block.

A Lego instruction manual page. A single flat 4x2 piece alone in a grey void, somehow perfectly encapsulating the feeling of a Sunday afternoon when you've got work in the morning.

we literally root for charlie brown every step of the way, he is the main character the show has told us to love. he is who we want to see win. and then when lucy pulls the football away, the show is telling us it does not respect our time as a viewer.

"We will not implement assets generated by AI into our games." Capcom said in a March 2026 shareholders meeting. "However, we plan to proactively use it as a contributing technology to improve the efficiency and productivity of the game development process. To this end, we are currently exploring ways to implement it in various areas, including graphics, sound and programming."

ok so. street fighter 6 has an all time peak playercount of about 70k people. which is extraordinary in fighting games, like that’s more than double strive’s peak and that game was a huge success. so riot’s plan was to make a game 10+ times more popular than Street Fucking Fighter. lmao.
