Could you imagine being the President of Queensland's Police "Union", who when being asked about being denied a watering-down of domestic violence definitions say the actual words "I certainly don’t stop when I’m told no the first time. No means not right now."? Fuck me.

Dear Tanya: Have you considered trying something that works?
We got our under-16 social media delay. We got age verification for online pornography, we have banned deepfake nudes, we have banned nudify apps, there’s a whole range of areas where we are acting. The question now is what more should we do? What comes next?

if I was a young person being told that the best our economic system can ever offer me is working longer and longer hours to live with more and more roommates and eat worse and worse food, I might start getting this crazy idea that we need a new economic system

It takes years of studies and community debate to approve a single bike lane, but data centers are going in left and right with the footprint of a small natural disaster and almost no bureaucracy gets in the way.

Seeing the news of Mladic popping his clogs reminded me that there was a time, years ago, when the Leaders of the Free World thought genocide was bad and they did something about it. What a time.
