And a special shout out to the FIVE drivers who blew the solid red light on KZM at Westboro Beach. Honestly, if drivers want people on bikes to follow road rules, they may want to consider leading by example. I'm not seeing a whole lot of following road rules out there anymore.

It's a great time of year, because soon, all the Spandex Jockeys who think their Strava stats actually mean something will go away. If you're out there leaving inches to spare when you're threading the needle- just know, you are no better than the giant pick up drivers closepassing people.

It's amazing how some people dehumanize others simply for choosing a transportation method that doesn't involve a car. They also hate traffic and other drivers, while simultaneously seething with rage at anyone walking, cycling, or proposing we fund better public transit.

Well, Nuit Blanche, as I experienced it tonight, should not be called that if it returns in the same format. Not nearly enough art for me. Way too many cars and people. Definitely not anything like the event I attended in Halifax ~20 years ago. 4/10 probably won't go again.

Dear @en.ottawa.ca, the next time a large event like Nuit Blanche takes place in Byward Market, the streets need to be closed to drivers. It's absolutely ludicrous to invite thousands of people into one neighbourhood, and still allow cars.

In all my time in Ottawa, I've been to several house parties. Usually, most of the guests are federal employees, speak in acronyms, and slip into French at will. Tonight I went to a party with mostly scientists. I've never been so clueless about the conversations in all my life. 😂

I bought fancy cupcakes for a friend's birthday party tonight. Had them package them in smaller boxes to fit my panniers, thus giving them a chance to survive. Until my pannier flipped over when I took it off my bike and set it down. Now it looks like the cupcakes did belly flops.

I just wish that if the transit system is gonna change a neighbourhood route and discontinue use at bus stops, they could put signage at the old location that tells you WHERE the new stop is. For those of us who thank gawd don't have to rely on transit every day. And the bus is 5 mins late.

With my bike in the shop, I decided to walk home from work rather than waste money and this beauty evening on the bus. And I'm glad I did, cuz not a single 11 passed me the whole time. I mean, maybe one went thru after I got past Holland, but for a 20min frequency route, that's pretty bad.
