I think it's bad that kids simply *riding* e-motos are viewed as problematic. What about the high schoolers I see driving trucks and overpowered cars? Or parents in giant SUVs? Both of which are more dangerous. No, no, the kids on e-motos are the real scourge.

Why are dirt bikes being ridden to middle school? How is that allowed?

Amazing how a little rain makes the speeding and narrow sidewalk issues visible and...tangible as in I am now soaking wet after walking my kid to school in what is otherwise just light rain. This is what makes routes to school feel unsafe and walking feel untenable.

Narrow sidewalk and tree lawn as a car speeds by in a 25 mph zone, spraying a large amount of water on the sidewalk occupant, me.

Just at the 20 mph to 25 mph school zone transition, cars speed by spraying water onto the sidewalk across a narrow tree lawn on a main street and primary route to school.

I spent years telling people that kids were not necessary to justify owning an e-cargo bike. I still stand by it. Having said that, if you're on the fence about the purchase and have halfway enabling infrastructure, buy it! The memories you'll make with your children are priceless.

You know why this bike parking is full of shopping carts? Because the design directed people to make this decision. The cart returns are farther away than the bike parking, thus people's natural laziness and lack of discipline take over.
