Bookmarking this- I’ll need to evaluate further, but this seemed to give me a much-needed boost today! 🙏 Acupuncture was one of the very first things that helped with my #LongCOVID. Today I decided to see if I could recreate the benefits myself… ✨ bit.ly/12acub

Here it is: Part 2 in my series about how I recovered from Long COVID PEM ✨ One of the most important things I did was use immune stimulants to clear persistent SARS-CoV-2 virus. However, these can be very rough on the body. Here’s what I did to stabilize my symptoms BEFORE treatment 👇 #longcovid

Huge finding from the. @polybiorf.bsky.social & UCSF team! #LongCovid patients have abnormally low levels of Natural Killer cells- the immune cells responsible for clearing virally infected cells. This finding is consistent with the growing evidence for viral persistence as a cause of LC. 1/

it's fairly easy to acknowledge that polio is a terrible disease now because it hasn't been a real threat for decades. Polio only appears in period films. Meanwhile long covid is similarly destroying futures but the stories are not represented in popular culture and thinking about it scares people.

Science’s 2024 Breakthrough of the Year is lenacapavir, an injectable drug that demonstrated remarkable success at preventing HIV infection with one shot every 6 months. The drug attaches to the lattice-like capsid proteins that shield the virus’s genetic material—a mechanism that could inspire other antivirals. Lenacapavir could help end the HIV/AIDS epidemic, but that will hinge on access for those who need it most.

I would add that rejecting "viewpoint diversity" is the entire point of the academy. We evaluate the value of ideas, and drop charlatans claiming global warming isn't real, discrimination doesn't exist, or vaccines cause autism. They've lost in the "marketplace of ideas" so are rigging the game.
