Had to unsub from someone I thought was cool because they bitched about “the left being taken over by identity politics.” Venn diagram of guys like that and bigoted assholes is indistinguishable from a circle.

The image is of a four panel comic. The title reads "Poltergeist".
In the first panel we see a woman with a worried expression on her face. She says, "stuff keeps moving around my house."
In the second panel the same woman says "I'm terrified. I can't sleep."
In the third panel we see a ghost holding a candle and a pillow that reads "live laugh love". The ghost is zooming through the house.
In the fourth panel we see the same ghost hanging up a frame and thinking, "home decor is my passion".

I don’t want to sound glib, but if a woman actually wanted to “make up a crime to ruin a man’s reputation,” they’d pick one that people actually give a shit about, like hurting a dog or something.

i am again going to politely entreat on you to stop posting about any policy anything without running it past your comms team.
as politely as possible, you are not actually capable of being appropriately objective, which you *should* be when talking about policy

Yes I've tried that and we then don't post anything. See nearly any post from the safety account as an example.
Users keep demanding policy explanations daily and then make up their own random stories when there's usually an objective and repeatable process on our end (since we train mods).

this is why, again, i do not think this information should be coming from your personal account and should be going through moderation@ with PR and comms approval. i get that you want to treat this as a small/bespoke platform but it does not function for this

It's well known that an infinite number of monkeys will eventually produce the works of Shakespeare. However my thesis is that this formulation is naive, and we can in fact establish a far lower bound. Proof: William Shakespeare, a monkey, produced the works of Shakespeare. (1/2)

An illustration done mostly with digital colored pencils. Ok, so we have a wooden coffin in the classic top-heavy hexagon shape. The coffin is propped up at an angle on nothing against a background of gray-blue paint splatters as a spooky sheet ghost rises out of it. Although it’s not a real sheet as it’s translucent and there’s nothing inside of it except a gape-mouthed green skull in the approximate head position within the sheet. The ghost is wearing a big. floppy, black witch’s hat and there’s a little brown bat hanging down from the wide brim. The ghost’s arms are extended holding a jack o’ lantern with a one-toothed frowny face carved into it. Popping out of the jack o’ lantern is a a black cat with green eyes balancing the cap of the pumpkin on his head. And on the stem of the pumpkin cap is a very serious-looking brown speckled owl. A series of spooky speech balloons is chained together around all this , each balloon containing one word and associating back tot he spooks and creatures named in the reverse order listed. The lettering in the balloons is red and drippy and reads ‘Maybe it will happen today’.

Serious question about that, because every phone I’ve owned in recent years has been rated to survive a ~30 minute dunk down to at least a few meters depth: Was his not actually water resistant? Did he drop it in water that was too deep? Was it damaged in a way that compromised the water resistance?
