As a mild Andy sceptic, that was terrific. The leader’s speech I’ve been waiting for. National Care Service, Triple Lock, honesty about disaster of #Brexit & a renewed closer relationship with the EU, electoral reform. If he delivers, he’ll go down as a great Labour PM & all Labour should back him.

Water under public ownership, a National Care Service, closer ties with the EU, leasehold reform, GB Grid to deliver our green electricity, electoral reform, energy costs brought down. These are the changes a Labour government, led by Andy Burnham, will deliver. Hope again.

Our response to Andy Burnham's Labour Party Conference speech 💬 #TaxTheSuperRich
We welcome the Prime Minister's vision to bring hope back to our country and communities.
And we repeat our longstanding message: we're ready to play our part by paying our fair share, so Britain gets the investment it needs to make that vision a reality.
This country helped to build our success. So millionaires like us must be taxed more. It's our turn to step up first and help build a better future for everyone.

The triple lock announcement today is essentially a shift to a long-run link to earnings. But with a minimum of inflation or 2.5% in any given year. Most importantly that removes the permanent ratchet above earnings.

Great stuff from Burnham which the right wing press will be hard pushed to find an angle with any crediblity to attack, it won't stop them obviously, standby for 'BREXIT under attack' I imagine. Or worse still, why didn't his wife come up on stage and kiss him ! ! #Burnham

Russia has one enormous strategic advantage of which it is taking advantage. It can daily attack civilian targets--hospitals, universities, markets--knowing that while Ukraine can do the same, the Ukrainians are too humane to do so.

What police do - 1. Say ''ello 'ello 'ello what have we here then' (one 'ello for each van) 2. Set up cordons 3. Request people not to speculate. 5. Issue statements 6. Pursue multiple lines of inquiry in fast moving investigations 7. Issue no further statements at this time That's it.

Looking for something fresh to speculate on. If you have any ideas let me know. Actually doesn't need to be that fresh, Diana, Andrew M-W, Epstein all OK so long as it lacks a factual base and goes viral.

The Fairford incident is dominating the news cycle - and the right-wing. Over the past 48 hours we’ve seen speculation, insinuation and implication attempt turn a serious story about security into one about immigration. This is a long one. Make some tea.

The rush to speculate that asylum seekers are responsible for every crime in the news is a sort of opportunistic informational terrorism. Until it’s disproved it stokes fear and hatred. When it is disproved there are no adverse consequences and they know that they only have to be lucky once.

This two tier policing is disgraceful. It's as if there is one approach for people who helpfully film themselves committing crimes and another approach when there is insufficient evidence.

Every day we see Trump and his acolytes make shit up, lie and just invent nonsense that they think makes them look good. Then the BBC reports something that “the Secretary of State” says like it’s gospel truth. We have no idea if Marco Rubio knows what he’s talking about. Trump certainly doesn’t.

We should be "paid" for doing our own scanning, running the cash register and bagging. A consumer at a self-check is doing the work of three people. We should also get paid every time we have to tell a fellow shopper where to find an item because the store doesn't have people on the floor.
