Important - and on the nail - point by the Prime Minister here. (www.ft.com/content/ef10... Burnham clears path to EU summit with post-Brexit breakthrough - £).
He noted that the proposed deal on removing barriers to agrifood trade would mean that Britain would have to adopt EU rules, a step that he said raised legitimate questions about whether the UK should start to reverse Brexit.
He told the BBC: "But then we're a rule taker, and then people will say, 'Well, hang on a minute, should Britain be that?'
"So we're in this position now where we can't really avoid the question anymore as to what is our long-term relationship."

No change has yet been published for the two UK firms Harborne controls, despite a 14-day duty to notify CH of a change.

Not sure about this. The point of living in a democracy is that voters’ views matter, and that law should be responsive to that. And the idea that questions of criminal sentencing policy should be immune from that pressure is, I think, dubious in principle.

NB that the result will be that the UK will have 3 subsidy control regimes: the 2022 Act as the generally applicable regime + Art10 of the Windsor F/W where there’s an effect on NI/EU goods trade + the new domestic regime implementing para 10 where the subsidy affects the electricity market.

The Labour tradition of free speech is not the libertarian approach of the FSU. But losing the ECHR - as the Tories and Reform want to do - would, on either approach, harm free speech.

And far away, as Frodo put on the Ring and claimed it for his own, even in Sammath Naur the very heart of his realm, the Power in Barad-dûr was shaken, and the Tower trembled from its foundations to its proud and bitter crown. The Dark Lord was suddenly aware of him, and his Eye piercing all shadows looked across the plain to the door that he had made; and the magnitude of his own folly was revealed to him in a blinding flash, and all the devices of his enemies were at last laid bare. Then his wrath blazed in consuming flame, but his fear rose like a vast black smoke to choke him. For he knew his deadly peril and the thread upon which his doom now hung. From all his policies and webs of fear and treachery, from all his stratagems and wars his mind shook free; and throughout his realm a tremor ran, his slaves quailed, and his armies halted, and his captains suddenly steerless, bereft of will, wavered and despaired. For they were forgotten. The whole mind and purpose of the Power that wielded them was now bent with overwhelming force upon the Mountain. At his summons, wheeling with a rending cry, in a last desperate race there flew, faster than the winds, the Nazgûl, the Ringwraiths, and with astorm of wings they hurtled southwards to Mount Doom.

"I am a strong supporter of electoral reform, partly because I believe it will enable the change to a more collaborative politics, and one that is less about point-scoring and more about problem-solving.

I will seek to persuade my own Party of the need for a manifesto commitment to it in the next manifesto."

My gripe (because I live on a one-way road) is Lime bikers riding the wrong way up the road (dangerous: it’s busy) or, worse, avoiding the danger by riding on the pavement. As Lime bikes are tracked, isn’t the answer for Lime to be made to take (say) £50 off the credit card of anyone who does that?

Now get this - No 10 North will be the nerve centre for a rewired Britain. It will be the conduit through which we redistribute power and resources across the UK. It will coordinate all parts of government, at national and local level, to agree a long-term economic strategy and help all places set new growth ambitions.
It will be given a mission to strive for equivalent living conditions in all parts of Britain - borrowing from the German Basic Law.
