Trump has denied disaster relief for Illinois following severe storms in August. Trump approved a request from Indiana for damage resulting from the same storms. One is a "blue state." The other is a "red state." No other president has politicized natural disasters the way that Trump has.

Today I got to accompany my adult child to her (trans) partner's funeral. It could have been worse. While the deceased was misgendered and deadnamed in the printed program, the minister used "they" throughout, and acknowledged that there were some in attendance who had known her by one name 1/x

I was today years old when I learned Dolly Parton recorded Woody Guthrie's song "Deportee (Plane Wreck At Los Gatos)" in 1980. It's a heartbreaking song about immigration and specifically deportation plane that crashed in 1948 killing dozens of Mexican "bracero" workers. Her version is beautiful💔
