There are many ways in which every billionaire is a policy failure, but the most corrosive and destructive way in which billionaires are policy failures is this: billionaires, despite being unelected and unaccountable, possess the power to control - and ruin - millions of peoples' lives.

My favorite story is that she anonymously gifted high school band and music programs across the South, especially majority Black schools, with music, uniforms and instruments. We are all made better for living in the era of Dolly Rebecca Parton. May her memory be for a blessing always.

I remember watching an interview with her and they asked her why her imagination library sent books to all children, even those whose families could afford books. She explained that all children should get the same opportunities and means testing was expensive and inefficient.
