Diminishing returns in visual fidelity
as I think about Lara Croft's pixel assets
then about Hellen Keller and Frida Kahlo
and last night's call with Patient Zer0

Anger is a valid response to millenia
of systemic abuse, minimized into aggressive
pellets of micro-plastics, taking Cornell notes
on essays about Proserpina's rape

Is this man going to hurt me?
Do I deserve it if i anticipate and predict it?
What if the blueprint for eutopia resides within
a woman who was safe as a girl?

I anticipate the male gaze's sigh
this isn't poetry, it doesn't even rhyme
when I've touched my clit, then wept for
mutilated and trafficked children

No that'll never work, it's too long
and where's the part about stroking a man's
ego— moaning God, fuck your patriarchy!

They Jest at Death

They dig the gruesome marrow out in jest...
But once there dwelled a Soul.
To those depths a Soul once loved.
They jest at Death that never died.
Left behind the bones that once were a young man's frame,
the legs with which He stood
Till Death made - then jesters came to rob - his grave.

They jest at Death that never died...
Not even granting Him the grace of his name
Nor caring where His Soul might have fled.

They jest at Death, they dig the gruesome marrow out
for sport...for art...
Perhaps it is in fear of Death they laugh...in this they feel safe, apart.
They jest at Death, they joust with a stranger's bones...

But He sees them...and He knows the true horror
Of the unquiet Dead...

Please try to understand: as a Soul cast out upon his own death as a young man &-by some bizarre twist of Ill-Fate-finding himself, centuries out of his own Time, landing in the present & worse still, co-habiting this female body of mine…tho often I feel so blessed to have Him, I know at times it’s torture for his true Soul to be so miscast. Also We both know that Halloween-as known for ages since-was once All Hallows’ Eve-the night before All Souls’ Day (so named in some religions)-a time meant to both honour & to celebrate the lives of those who’ve died. In centuries since it’s been turned into trawling for candy &/or a horror-themed orgy of grimness. Whilst We don’t wish to deprive children of the fun of dressing up, He finds the spectacle it’s become for adults sad-tho he tried to✍️to such prompts last yr. Some cultures still honour & celebrate The Day Of The Dead-Nov 1st. But October’s become a month celebrating horror…It’s that He finds especially💔…-tam💞
