Mondays are better with ~brand new articles~ to read! \o/ This one's on Bomberman Fantasy Race, one of very few "popular series has a racing game spin-off" games that successfully transfers its core mechanics across to a new genre: ko-fi.com/post/Bomberm...
A photo showing the box, CD, and case for Bomberman Fantasy Race (PlayStation). The classic white bomberman sits on top of a smiling green louie, a kangaroo-like creature, with lots of smiling friends and similarly cute louie racers behind. The image is bright, colourful, and fun.

randomhoohaas.net No news on what caused the old site to blow up, but I've moved to a new host. The blog's AWOL and there's lots of things to fix, but it's up...! Random Hoo Haas will be 21 years old in October, and that's a wee bit terrifying. Thank you for putting up with my rubbish for this long.
You know what I'm going to dock a point for? His noodly arms. Bowser is hardly known for his killer delts, but it upsets me seeing the rest of him so rightfully massive, and then those bloody things looking so scrawny. I have no proposed solution for this without going into embarrassing detail about what Bowser's arms should look like, because believe it or not, this article has limits. aw dang son not another panic bomba what cna i poisslby say about it mang"Life originated in and emerged from the sea! The spineless sea creatures evolved into vertebrate fish and these in turn evolved into life forms that first crawled out of the waters!"

This is a terrible way to start a new section.

I know with animation it's hard to get as intricate with designs without running into Uzumaki's roadblocks, but damn does it make me appreciate how skilled the Fleetway artists were at matching style and genre.ĺ
A page of Fleetway's Golden Axe comic, all painted in the style of a swords-and-sorcery novel cover.A page of the Streets Of Rage comic, all solid colours and lurid neon lights comtrasting heavy inked shadows, pulp crashing into an 80s movie.Decap Attack's comic in a more angular, cartoony style, facial features drawn to emphasise grotesque expressions.Ecco The Dolphin's comic, no inked linework, instead looking like a gorgeous watercolour painting.

Thew's toy reviews are always worth a watch, but when you get someone with his presentation style and knowledge of music - the man's a drummer himself, among his other talents - doing reactions *to music*, you get a damned good video that achieves far more than its intended purpose. Great watch.

The audio is a bit funky though -- some instrumentation is way louder or warped, the Space Bomber fight possibly the clearest example, changing the background "whoosh" into an overpowering siren. The jukebox uses recordings from a different source, so it must be an emulation foible...?
