always nice to see someone else who shares my opinion on instruction manuals

Thank you for purchasing Electro Brain Corp.'s original haunted high school thriller GHOUL SCHOOL for you Nintendo Entertainment System. We recommend you read the following instructions carefully. You will enjoy it. We fear that if you ignore such a warning you will find yourself not only hopelessly lost, but quick to realize the nightmarish truth that you've been locked in your high school surrounded by phantasms as well.

GHOUL SCHOOL is mad good... I was very impressed with how densely packed it is with unique enemies and neat little secrets. A game for the open-hearted. Throw sandwiches at eyeballs. Thanks to @retropals.bsky.social for the big battle maniacal raid tonight www.twitch.tv/videos/28885...

soggy quagmire of marshes
and interlacing waterways."

Another thing to remember on this bisexual day is that The Grungler is canonically bi. I do enjoy how it's become a term for "token cis guy who hangs out with a bunch of trans weirdos" but the original post was also about straight women being weird about bi men.

women will go on a 1st date with a guy and things will be going well until the guy casually mentions he's bi and she'll go home and start posting stuff like like 'we need to normalize being straight' and 'whatever happened to beauty' meanwhile the guy went home to play video games with a bunch of weird discord transsexuals and he named his character 'the grungler' and he keeps saying stuff like 'check it out guys, i'm the grungler'

"Bomber Hehhe!" is a game about ARTISTIC EXPRESSION. Our finest demo is immortalized here despite the fact that it wound up softlocking us in story mode because I do not understand when the resources restock. I don't suppose anyone out there knows how the gunpowder supply works...?

in Goofy's Hysterical History Tour if you want points credit for the Goofballs you've collected you need to manually deposit the Goof Balls into a Goofball Funnel Gooftraption by pressing Down once per Goofball and must also wait for the Goofball Funnel Gooftraption sequence to fully play each time

Sumo Fighter almost feels like a homebrew game... the mismatched patchwork of enemy sprites, in particular. but you don't get tired of seeing them get gently tweened off screen by a sumo throw. there's tangible differences between the difficulty modes, so we'll be coming back to this eventually...

as usual, terrible news for the haters: I enjoyed JAWS for the NES. Cool game that is very satisfying to clear. Mostly suffers from lack of variety; the template here could be used to make a very interesting RPG/arcade-action hybrid. That re-release is looking very tempting...

The end screen of JAWS for the NES, depicting what I would describe as a very "Malibu Flavoured" sunset beach scene.
