Panneau de moules (1966) aka Panel of Mussels by Marcel Broodthaers (1924-1976) who never fails to make me laugh. Started out as a failed poet. "For some time I had been no good at anything... Finally the idea of inventing something insincere crossed my mind & I set to work straightaway." #LesBelges
A lot of mussel shells glued to a canvas. The result is quite beautiful, and more colourful than you might expect, with, for example, flashes of green. The exhibit notes it's composed of "mussel shells, resin, and paint on panel", but I don't know which parts were paint. Maybe just the background? The shells are empty - at least I hope so, since if they're not this picture would be quite ponky by now. Damien Hirst eat your heart out.

einstein sent this to curie in 1911 when she was being harassed by tabloids. it contains everything you’d want in such a letter: (1) your haters are trash (2) you’re a baller, a true queen (3) i have determined the statistical law of motion of the diatomic molecule in planck’s radiation field 🧪⚛️

Highly esteemed Mrs. Curie,
Do not laugh at me for writing you without having anything sensible to say.
But I am so enraged by the base manner in which the public is presently daring to concern itself with you!? that I absolutely must give vent to this feeling. However, I am convinced that you consistently despise this rabble, whether it obsequiously lavishes respect on you or whether it attempts to satiate its lust for sensationalism!
I am impelled to tell you how much I have come to admire your intellect, your drive, and your honesty, and that I consider myself lucky to have made your personal acquaintance in Brussels. Anyone who does not number among these reptiles is certainly happy, now as before, that we have such personages among us as you, and Langevin(3) too, real people with whom one feels privileged to be in contact. If the rabble continues to occupy itself with you, then simply don't read that hogwash, but rather leave it to the reptile for whom i

DMs on Bluesky will not be "end-to-end encrypted" until we are able to do some more protocol work. We have very careful access controls within our systems. If you're extremely privacy conscious, I'd recommend using Bluesky DMs to share your Signal accounts!
Who can read DMs?

A diagram shows Alice sending a DM to Bob through Bluesky. Alice and Bob can read the DM. Bluesky can read the DM, but access is carefully controlled, including for moderators. Eve (an outsider) cant read the DMs

The discovery of family photos continues with this wonderful Colorado Dinosaur Park, probably about 1976. I’ve charged ahead, leaving my brother to be eaten by the T-Rex. The variety of antennas on the horizon add to the washed out science fiction feel to this time nearly beyond memory.
Beautifully 1976 washed out colours. A fibreglass T-Rex and Brontosaurus stomp their way down a hill path, while myself and my brother (still just a toddler) charge past them up the hill. My mother, in her wide flares and tight curls, watches us run. The T-Rex looks so happy, like he’s running to get ice cream.
