Living on an Orange March route is what made me understand why the military have marching bands. They are designed to invoke a lingering sense of terror in stages by instrument, and then by lyrics. Noone should be forced to hear hundreds of people singing joyfully about spilling their blood.

Tom Watson’s move to Palantir is the latest sign of how far the rot has spread in UK politics. Like Blair, Cameron, Clegg, Mandelson, hired to open govt networks to companies and corporate capture of the state. They sell political capital built with public money. What do we get in return?

will say it again: the most effective way to curb far right agitators like Lowe, "Tommo" et. al. would be to stop their ability to earn money for it from social media or live streaming. So much of it is grifting for revenue, not attention.

Thomas Edison in 1910. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves on this net zero business, lads
Someday some fellow will invent a way of concentrating and storing sunshine to use instead of this old, absurd Prometheus scheme of fire.
I'll do the trick myself if someone doesn't get at it....
This scheme of combustion in order to get power makes me sick to think of—it is so wasteful.... We should utilize natural forces and thus get all of our power. Sunshine is a form of energy, and the winds and the tides are manifestations of energy. Do we use them? Oh no; we burn up wood and coal, as renters burn up the front fence for fuel.
We live like squatters, not as if we owned the property. There must surely come a time when heat and power will be stored in unlimited quantities in every community, all gathered by natural forces. Electricity ought to be as cheap as oxygen, for it cannot be destroyed.
Now, I am not sure but that my new storage battery is the thing. 167

Portsmouth Green Party coffee morning, a chance to find out how we decide on policies, and how the party conference works. Sunday September 27th, 10:00, at Somerstown Community Centre.
A fantastic chance to meet and get to know other like-minded people, and learn a bit more about the Green Party Conference. What is a motion? How can I vote? What even is a plenary? We'll hear from the people who have literally been writing the policy amendments that members will vote on at conference. In the second hour we'll just chat and eat cake!

Afterwards, we'll be hitting the streets for a leafleting action day, if you'd like to join us.

You don't solve the refugee problem by moving from hotels to barracks. You solve it by 1. Processing those waiting for an answer. 2. Addressing the causes of displacement, famine, economic deprivation and war. 3. Being honest about what is making life more and more rubbish for UK residents.
