Splendid photo of a splendid baby. Photo from my collection, no date/info.

Black-and-white photo of a shorthaired tabby kitten walking along a wooden beam that is laying on a grass lawn. There is a light colored house and a small tree in the background. The photo is especially lovely because the depth of field is quite precise on the kitten with a great deal of blur in the foreground in the background.

The more I think about this, the more it bothers me that GitHub is doing this.. what reason does GitHub have to worry about age verification?

The tweet that immediately came to mind:

1: sell a quality product at a fair price
2: drain the world's oceans so we can find and kill god

Was there a specific thing that caused so many games to forgo the midnight release on Thursday/Friday? It seems like so many things are now like.. 6am Tuesday. Not a fan of this trend.

Whelp, went and unpinned/unfollowed another hobby's worth of accounts and feeds due to my useless body. After the work I put in all summer, I was hoping to feel something positive; I just don't.

fun fact: one of the things that made me decide "no, I will get an actual diagnosis", rather than just assuming, was the subtitle of a thread about ADHD on the SomethingAwful forums because it hit so hard it hurt it was along the lines of "if you were lazy, you would be having fun"

Hey #Winnipeg, be sure you never rent from Devereux apartments. The fire department confirmed a second time today that the company is lying to the fire department about fixing issues in their buildings. Their buildings are legitimately unsafe.

Evacuated at 730am. I hate this apartment, but I hate the person who manages it more.

JD, you can’t eat comics. @lostcity.bsky.social · 23/09/2026

There are a lot of advantages libraries have over bookstores in connecting readers to books, but one that I need everyone to think about is graphic novels and manga. These books are expensive, but fast to read. There is NO WAY bookstores alone can fill the need for comics, even for the well-off.

Please know that this is one of my few legitimate areas of actual, high-level professional expertise: Kicking the healthiest people off of a health insurance program will bankrupt it. Not 'could;' not 'might,' not 'probably," but absolutely will, with mathematical certainty.

I think it's ill-advised and anti-democratic to introduce an omnibus bill, cite a crisis, and rush major changes to labour and environmental law. It's going to provoke aggressive resistance and risks, ironically, slowing down the projects the government is so keen on. It's going to be a huge mess.

Disney bought Fox in 2019 so they could compete with Netflix. Since then they have laid off at least 7000 people, jacked up prices, repeatedly introduced ads until they're on every tier, and only last year turned their first streaming profit. The mergers haven't been good for anyone.
