That's a huge success for the British cultural industry on the world stage. We should maybe even start considering it a major 21st century British export industry, maybe even get a ministry to oversee it?

Christopher Reeve was the best Clark & Superman because of this wonderful scene where his change of posture, gestures & tone of voice are all perfectly calibrated within a beautifully composed shot. No CGI required to show his transformation. He & Margot Kidder are much missed. #SupermanDay

one explanation is that chemicals in the air or water are making everyone stupider every year and we haven’t noticed because we’re all too stupid. this hypothesis would help explain why everything and everyone is really stupid now

I just want my govt to treat terrorists with the same lightning fast, zero tolerance, full force of the law that they usually reserve for elderly vicars who dare to mention in public that mass murder is bad.

I think we need to see more questions like this. "Was the crowning of Charlemagne in 800 CE good or bad?" "Did the collapse of the Majapahit Empire have a positive or negative effect?" I need more poll questions with answers that have been debated by historians for the last 500 years

Astrophotographer Adam (AJ) Smadi caught this image a few hours ago from Washington state. A thin crescent Moon, sunlight illuminating the rugged lunar surface. And 2,400 times farther away—and on the other side of the Sun—mighty Jupiter, and its moons Io (left) and Ganymede (right).
A crescent Moon seen during the day, arcing from upper left to lower right of the frame. At lower centre is the full disk of Jupiter; the small dots to its upper left and lower right and Io and Ganymede, respectively.

Picking on the RNLI and thinking you are the good guys is such a great example of what is presumably an irreversible brain rot, like if you opened up the bonnet on those heads it would be like when a peach has gone too mushy to be saved

One reason England does so well is our second generation immigrants outperform their peers which is not true in most OECD countries. We are also very good at integration. And it's v sad that this is never acknowledge in debates on immigration.
