Sports Day. Back when I was HoD I had an NQT who was a Y8 form tutor. A Polish girl called Martha moved into her class. Martha was a perfectionist who found peer relationships tricky. She needed everything to be perfect and predictable which is, I think, why she preferred adults.

It was inevitable, wasn't it🙄 Of course the Telegraph would run with something like this👇 So let's remove some of the rose-tinted spectacles and also look at some of that data comparing 1976 with modern heat waves Because the 1976 nostalgia porn is wearing a bit thin at this stage 🧵1/23

A lovely day out at #rEDEastAnglia The legend that is @counsellc.bsky.social started us off with the power of stories. My favourite line was about using stories to capture and hold attention "Hook them in by the scruff of their curiosity!" And the story of the rest of the day...

#rEDEastAnglia26 @clairebadger.bsky.social another great session on Effective Feedback, ensure that feedback is given before grades to focus students attention on the feedback first.
Picture of Different Types of Feedback slide: about the person - “You’re so smart” - least effective, About the task - was the work correct - good if students had a faulty interpretation of what was needed, about the process- the decisions they made - leads to deeper learning, about self regulation - their focus and emotions - good for developing independent learners
