The Before.. films hit so differently as you age. When I first saw Before Midnight I was disappointed where Jesse and Celine ended up. Now it's so obvious how completely in love they still are. They're just too busy and stressed to see it. Give them five years and they'll be fine.

I remember being given this awful leaflet about all the most frightening stuff (most of which wasn't true for us anyway) and right at end it said "parents of children with WS say they bring them joy." As if it were a wooden spoon and not the whole point of everything.

Seeing a new family at a Williams Syndrome event is always so.. I dunno intense. You see these people, traumatised, shipwrecked really and you want to say "It isn't bad. You'll find a normal and you'll look back so proud of the journey you've taken." But you can't rush it for them..

Every year I set myself a teaching target.

I start small – usually just one class, usually in a lower year group.

To add accountability, I tell the group exactly what I’m doing and why and ask them to prompt me if I stop doing it.

Beyond that, I don’t force it – if something works well, I naturally start doing it with my other classes. This is what happened – dramatically quickly, actually – with visualisers.

Talking of sexism been troubled by the coverage of the Hyrox incident. Maybe I'm missing something but surely the onus is on organisers to make the rules clear, not got athletes at their most adrenaline spiked to make calls. And it's always the women who are shamed right? Coverage feels coded.
