I've been using Ubuntu in my desktop since Nov(?) last year. The interface has always felt too terse, sort of hard to read for me. Today I installed Kubuntu (KDE Plasma desktop manager) to see if it feels better. We'll see.

Through decades of adulting, I've figured out that I don't need any smart appliances. It is perfectly OK (actually desirable) that my refrigerator, stove, oven, washing machine, dishwasher, toaster, microwave oven, lamps, etc have no need for internet connection or firmware updates.
