The TRC handed the government a roadmap that two successive governments have chosen to essentially discard. The failure to implement the Calls-to-Action - notably in areas of health and "justice", but literally every section of the report - is unjustifiable and sure appears to be intentional.

I'm especially fond of this one she did of The Bear busking in my kitchen in Norfolk in 2013. The Bear was always "The Bear", NEVER "Bear". That would have been a very different cat. (People who still call him the latter tend to be people who followed the Twitter account but never read about him.)

The Bear remained my mum's main subject for a year or two and pretty soon she was coming up with linoprints of him like this. She did all her work in a cramped space, next to the fridge & washing machine, in the utility room of the cottage where she and my dad live.

THREAD. Packing up in spring for our house move, I found this: it was my mum's first attempt at capturing my cat The Bear (RIP) via a quick chalk sketch. 2013, perhaps? So simple, but so great, and it proved to be the catalyst for what has been a huge amount of creativity in her retirement...

Stephen Tramontana posts:

Dear billionaires, we're not
"confiscating" anything. 45 years ago, you made society a promise that if we reduced your tax bill, you would use some of that money to improve conditions for all Americans. Instead, you chose to do the opposite. That was the choice you made. So now we're demanding to go back to what worked before - taxing you at the proper rate.
You've had a great ride, but let's be clear - your greed is why we're here.

A male mandarin duck who gets off purely on being mean who saw that I had put on the one nice outfit I own for one of the most important evenings of my life and decided to sartorially annihilate me, even though, due to having no friends, it had planned to do nothing all evening but hang out on this shit rusty metal railing staring at its own reflection in a window. Three panel comic. Panel 1: a beetle is on the phone in his house. He says, “hey man— for the party tonight… don’t bring any poop.” Panel 2: on the other end of the call is a dung beetle. He responds, “really? You sure?” Panel 3: shrugging towards another dung beetle, the first dung beetle says, “he says they’re good on poop.” Somewhat incredulous, the second dung beetle says, “I just rolled it!” He is leaning against a mostly out of frame huge ball of poop.
