My eight-year-old was made fun of for wearing a pink shirt with a sequin heart on it to School yesterday and most weeks we would just address it with emboldening convos at home, but given all of the recent news I might start some shit in the 3rd grade parent group chat over it.

GOOD NEWS! Researchers have discovered a new antibiotic, known as manikomycin, that may be a bulwark in the fight against drug-resistant superbugs. By attacking the ribosome in a never-before-seen way, manikomycin can evade the existing mechanisms pathogens have developed to resist antibiotics.

I really don’t think that’s the case. I do think that probably these people hate femininity, which they see as weakness. But that doesn’t mean that they are secretly gay or trans. And I think that it does damage to insist that they are. Maybe some are, but definitely not all.

A lot of people are not well right now: physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. This is an excellent time to de-escalate conflicts and to lean into patience. This is true in our personal lives and also (maybe especially) online when it's overwhelmingly strangers crashing into each other.

Last year I started building custom Lego sets for my books to take photos, and I spent this weekend working on the newest. It's the kitschy Christmas themed train car B&B the characters get snowed into. Also, once it's built, I am going to try my hand and a Lego stop motion scene with them too.
A black, red, and white Lego train car featuring a scene inside with a bed, cupboard, sofa and two lego figures who resemble the characters from my novel, A Curse for Christmas Past.
