Very exciting! Given the novel mechanism of action, I wonder -- how plausible do you think it is that we someday reach a point where we have enough different antibiotics that, given pressure on pathogens to keep their genomes small, we hit a point where bugs can resist *any* drug, but not all?

I find that very encouraging but it caused a bit of worry/cynicism. It comes from fear of jhow little time it might take to evolve resistance to this drug, which in the case of previous drugs was accelerated by people refusing to finish their prescribed course of antibiotics.
