I modified my rnsf #rstats package so now it's easy to install (piggyback package helps with the large cache). Has public info on all NSF grants since 1960. remotes::install_github("bomeara/rnsf") bomeara.github.io/rnsf/index.html Bergograms by region, grant change by state, subject changes, etc
Bergogram (line plot by day of year) of number of awards by region in each of the past few years versus past years. All regions had declines, though the South fared better than the others.Plot of change of funding per state. One of the most neglected, least understood, and willingly ignored concepts in microbiology is how fast cells grown in their native habitat. We just extrapolate from cultures, which is unrealistic. I wish I could get funds to measure growth in a bunch of habitats and do some foundational work ;(

Okay this is just wildly cool - they tracked human ice-fishers *and* the fish they're hunting. Even though humans can't see the fish *at all* the humans are still surprising good at zero-ing on their prey. Probably the most complete picture of predator AND prey movement together. 🤯🎣
