It’s Harry Ford in an old school yearbook photo with a “Prefect” badge badly photoshopped onto it

Monica Coglan was cross-examined for 13 hours by Archer’s lawyers in the libel trial. She was frequently in tears as her entire life and character was attacked. She died in a car crash before Archer was found guilty of perjury in that trial. Before it was found she’d told the truth all along.

Anglia’s pitch: Peter Fenn plays the theme using his large organ. Nicholas Parsons stars as the Doctor, but writes his own scripts. John Benson narrates. The lovely Michelle from Gambit as companion. Ro(n)ald Dahl as showrunner. Spinning knight instead of a spinning Tardis. Forever set in 1950s.

It's a shame Southern didn't get it. You'd be guaranteed at least four boat-based adventures every season and a climactic confrontation on top of the giant fibreglass Saturday Banana.

Border Television is bidding for the Doctor Who gig. Ian Krankie as the Doctor, with Jimmy as the sweet-natured sidekick. Charlie Cairoli as the Master. Lots of wonderful vistas of the lakes, Keswick and Border Television's car park.

Don’t know what’s with Sky Tennis at the moment. Automation is kicking in badly; after a break, the start of a game begins, but then about 5 seconds it seems to trigger an automatic Sky promo. And I had to enter a PIN to view the channel! It has also disappeared from the EPG. Maybe deliberately :)

Coyote vs. Acme is easily the best feature film starring the Looney Tunes characters: a funny, clever dissection of the relationship between two classic characters, an amusing courtroom farce, and the best live-action/cartoon combination since Roger Rabbit. Highly recommended for adults and kids.

RIP Dolly Parton.

Never met her, never interviewed her (despite decades of unrequited requests) but thought she was utterly fabulous in every way.

Dolly Parton rose from poverty to stardom. She gave $500 to every student in her hometown who finished high school; she built hospitals & bald eagle preserves; her Imagination Library has gifted 300 million books to children. Roger Ebert met her and came away thinking she was a literal angel. RIP.
“In Dallas for the premier of '9 to 5', I had an uncanny experience, and on the plane home to Chicago I confessed it to Siskel: I had been granted a private half hour with Dolly Parton, and as we spoke I was filled with a strange ethereal grace. This was not spiritual, nor was it sexual. It was healing and comforting. Gene listened and said, "Roger, I felt the exact same thing during my interview with her." We looked at each other. What did this mean? Neither one of us ever felt that feeling again. From time to time we would refer to it in wonder.”
