I always have mixed feelings about these images. Yes, it's inspiring to see these college students committed to democracy, but the fact that they have to do anything remotely difficult to exercise their voting rights is enraging. Taking part in a democracy should be as easy as possible.

Got a glimpse of the restoration work done and still to go at the Basilica of St. Mary here in Minneapolis. We got a post-Mass look: The ceiling paint work and the second shot of the stone show the most change. But so do the stained glass windows! Also lot to go, as the scaffolding shot shows.

An art history question sent to me by @tulsadave.bsky.social; does anyone have an idea about what he's describing? He suggests it could be medieval, but I'm also wondering if perhaps later, even 19th-century - Pre-Raphaelite or the like...? All suggestions welcome..!
I have an art history question - may not be in your particular expertise:
I remember a painting I believe medieval, in the skewed perspective typical of that time. The subject a male and female, high nobility of some type (king & queen?) dressed in court finery but on closer look both appear emaciated, the robes tattered. Their bejeweled withered hands, I believe the Man holds a hoe and a bag of seeds; the woman holds a hand scythe and seems to be gathering. A crow/ raven on a dead tree in background, bones & buried skull in the foreground.
No idea who the artist is or the name of the composition. Could you point me to a Art Historian who might be familiar?
