It‘s just insane to me that a sitting president has made MORE THAN A BILLION DOLLARS peddling fucking fairy dust with no intrinsic value beyond his stature and power AS president, and it’s not treated as the biggest corruption scandal in American history.

Building homes near jobs, transit, and stores costs governments roughly $21,000 less per unit in upfront infrastructure than building at the suburban fringe — and that gap widens over time. …

The John Roberts Court has done more to reduce the political power of poor people and Black people while enlarging the voting rights of rich people and corporations than has any court since Roger Taney was Chief Justice in the 1800s. I opposed his nomination in 2005, and I stand by that.

Moving forward the Supreme Court has basically made only one viable redistricting reform pathway forward: change the process to independent commissions. Any criteria-based gerrymandering restrictions can be rationalized away to the god of partisan gerrymandering

notice the casual conflation of “free speech” and “no big deal” as if these are not categorically different claims; the contempt for his colleagues; and the inability to distinguish interrupting class out of retaliatory spite from the protest of an address by a public official
David Bernstein v
@ProfDBernstein Every time a leftist professor defends
students disrupting an event on campus as "free speech" or "no big deal," there should be an action squad that shows up to that professor's next class and disrupts it in similar
fashion.

Trump says he’s “ordering” CNN to retract their reporting and “authorities are looking to determine whether or not a crime was committed.” Dude thinks he’s a dictator.
The alleged Statement put out by CNN World News is a FRAUD, as CNN well knows. The false Statement was linked to a Fake News site (from Nigeria) and, of course, immediately picked up by CNN, and blared out as a “legitimate” headline. The Official Statement by Iran was just released, and posted on TRUTH, below. Authorities are looking to determine whether or not a crime was committed on the issuance of the Fake CNN World Statement, or was it a sick rogue player? CNN is being ordered to immediately withdraw this Statement with full apologies for their, as usual, terrible “reporting.” Results of the investigation will be announced in the near future. President DONALD J. TRUMP

The fact that nobody seriously believes there is an institution in this country that will check the president—that we’re all just sitting here hoping that he gets distracted and fails to follow through on his genocidal threats—is the most damning indictment of our political system I’ve seen yet.

It's kinda interesting/bonkers how the No Kings protests, which brought out 8 million people across the country, has already been pushed out of the 'news cycle', just a day or so later. If 8 million people came out for the third time in a year to protest Obama or Biden, it'd still be the top story

If the estimates were right, there were about 9 million people at No Kings rallies today. That would mean this protest was THIRTY TIMES AS LARGE AS THE TEA PARTY PROTEST which we were told, over and over again, was a massively important sign that US politics had shifted dramatically to the right
