My aunt is deaf in one ear thru measles. I caught it before I was vaccinated, spent a week in hospital due to seizures. This isnt something to mess around with but I guess some people need to see to believe.

Private equity has hollowed-out high streets. Famous names, jobs, supply chains destroyed. Aided by the state: PE gets tax relief on interest payments. No tax on dividends paid to owners holed up in tax havens. No inquiry into serial bankruptcies. It is gangster capitalism. archive.ph/zisBU

The high street is dying: blame the Goodfellas of private equity, says Neil Mackay
Private Equity firms are treating British brands like the gangsters in the movie Goodfellas. We need to fix the system or just sink deeper into irrelevance, our Writer at Large argues

I guess Casey Newton didn't enjoy my latest newsletter post making fun of his flimsy justifications for returning to Twitter
"Standard Alt-Text (Full Transcript)

Screenshot of text from Casey Newton’s newsletter: "Response from readers was mixed; I received exactly as many notes criticizing me for the decision as I did notes from readers telling me that they understood. The number of paid subscribers declined slightly. I said at the time that I welcomed criticism, and I meant it: I went on the Power Lines podcast and received a good-natured grilling from Status’ Oliver Darcy, Jon Passantino, and a surprise Kara Swisher. I also respectfully acknowledge this post from the great Rusty Foster, of Today in Tabs, lumping me in with the “culty dimwits.” (I’m less enthusiastic about this screed from the vituperative crank Karl Bode, but if you want to read a kitchen-sink take from a Bluesky dead-ender, this should suffice.)"

Janet Murray is now publicly harassing a random trans woman for choosing to get gender affirming surgery, and her real life friend for donating some money towards funding it. Janet works for the Telegraph and the Mail. This is the state of British journalism. Harassing people for being trans.
Janet Murray on Facebook: NEW: An English teacher at a 28k a year private girls' school crowdfunded for "bottom surgery" in Thailand in during the summer.
And his headteacher's name appears to be amongst the donors.
He wrote about the experience for his Go Fund Me page - which remained live - until the school was approached for comment this afternoon.
My latest for [Un]Captured - link below

Headline from the link: Girls' school head donated to teacher's sex-change surgery fund
English teacher Cassie Westwood's appeal for "bottom surgery" in Thailand listed a donation under the name of his boss, headteacher Caroline Jordan.

In the film Braveheart, Mel Gibson plays the rebel Scottish lord William Walace who was born around 1270. But Mel Gibson wasn't born until 1956 in Australia. Not only is this 700 years later but also 500 years before Australia was discovered. Absolute nonsense.

Female Oxford University professor, 33, is charged with possessing indecent images of children
Story by Elizabeth Ivens

An Oxford University professor is facing trial after being charged with possessing indecent images of children.

Dr Lola Salem, 33, is a music lecturer at prestigious Oriel College, the oldest royal foundation college at Oxford, where King Charles is the 'official visitor' as reigning monarch.

She was suspended by the college, whose famous alumni include Sir Walter Raleigh, after they became aware of the charges in June.
