When a country’s yields go higher it means the world is losing faith that it will repay its debt. Right now, Canada and Europe are selling off US bonds to minimize their risk exposure. This is causing bond prices to drop, which causes yields to rise. A VERY clear message is being sent right now.

The last time bond yields were this high was 20 years ago! Canada and Europe are quietly dumping US treasuries due to a lack of faith in the US government. This is causing prices to drop, which sends yields (and interest rates) higher. This is not a good thing for our economy.
