Even though I've turned this "feature" off, this ghostly prompt shows up every time I start a new document in MSWord and each time if fills me afresh with anger that, if my mood is wrong, edges towards rage. If I smash my computer display seeing someday, I blame @microsoft.com CEO Satya Nadella.

This should be so obvious that it doesn’t need to be said, but given what kind of weekend it’s been on here, apparently it does: If you don’t want old rapists running the world, in office, in the board room, making decisions for all of us get comfortable with “ruining” young rapists’ lives

Angry neighbors may have accomplished something that years of advocacy could not: Reducing the minimum fire lane from 20 feet to 12 feet. This has been approved by the fire department and SDOT's Transportation Operations Division. My source at SDOT says this is a precedent.

When Seattle transit advocates successfully fought against the cap on the city's share of a pass-through on the new countywide 0.1% sales tax this summer...that resulted in a $4.7 million annual contribution to SDOT's budget that is now preventing cuts to urban forestry & bridge maintenance.

That's weird because Bob has said on the campaign trail, and in office, and even back when we were on the Queen Anne Community Council together that traffic safety is an important element of public safety.

Juarez was also a major proponent of a $160M new North Precinct for the SPD, "the most expensive precinct building in United States history." A militarized, fortified luxury bunker. (We blocked it). Remember the Bunker when she tries to pull some shady shit on this year's budget
The Seattle police are in the news again. This time for a lavish new $160 million North Precinct building that The Seattle Times’ Brier Dudley claims is the most expensive precinct building in United States history. The epic structure contains a 106,082-square-foot precinct house straddling a 241,019-square-foot parking garage. In other words, the complex is 70% parking.

Watching these musicians stand in solidarity and withdraw from the Ed Sheeran tour is so moving. Capitalism encourages them to act in their personal financial best interest, which upholds the status quo. They are showing strong character to stand up and say no in spite of the lost opportunities.
