I’ve heard of crows doing this thing where they drop an acorn to crack it, but this is the first time I’ve gotten to see one do it. This crow was at it for a while before I started recording. 😊 They’re such problem solvers.

Around 6:30AM, my room gets filled with electric orange light. I tried recording it, but the camera didn’t pick up its brilliance. It lasts about 3 minutes. It’s like the color of those popsicles you get from the ice cream truck, an orange creamsicle? Yeah. It’s so beautiful that it wakes me up.

Africanfutururism (and africanjujuism) are each one word. I really don’t know why this is so difficult for people.

Lastly, africanfuturism is spelled as one word (not two, no hyphen and the "f" is not capitalized. It is one word so that the concepts of Africa and futurism cannot be separated (or replaced with something else) because they both blend to create something new just like the word "Naijamerican"). As one word, it is one thing and no one can change the subject without starting a different conversation. Like the terms "science fiction" and "fantasy", africanfuturism is a neutral word, therefore it is not capitalized.

Me, scared? Why yes, I was terrified, 🤣🫨. But I enjoyed every minute of the two-hour drive along the Pacific coast from Timber Cove to the airport. Beautiful cliffs and ocean, tiny quirky towns, red wood forest and then wine country farmland. Lovely.

The incorrect info about sphynx cats that I see on social media is annoying. No, they don’t require THAT much maintenance and the type of climate dictates whether they need baths or not. I live in Phoenix, I don’t have to bath him at all. But when with him in Illinois for a month, I did. .
