I guess we have to hand it to the car advocates if they can get the city to admit that 20 foot fire lanes are a want not a need of SFD

Angry neighbors may have accomplished something that years of advocacy could not: Reducing the minimum fire lane from 20 feet to 12 feet. This has been approved by the fire department and SDOT's Transportation Operations Division. My source at SDOT says this is a precedent.

Here's an overview of the U Village loophole from a little known transit advocate named Katie Wilson in 2016: "the [Commercial Parking Tax] neglects a huge amount of non-residential parking space, because it does not apply to lots at malls and big box stores that provide free parking for customers."

Mayor Wilson's Vision Zero executive order calls for expedited engagement in order to save time, money, and lives. You can see how this kind of thing is difficult to do.
Expediting community engagement processes. These criteria should take into
consideration project type, condition assessments, and other historical and empirical
data.

When you elect more Democrats, they try to pass climate policy. When you elect more Republicans, they try to block climate policy. This is not Democrats' fault. Republicans make their own choices & are responsible for those choices. They are not helpless victims of the way climate activists talk.

Except for a few complicated signs that require a clock, a calendar, and a fundamental understanding of Boolean logic to decipher, Seattle's parking rules are pretty clear, and yet you see violations everywhere. Hiring more parking enforcement officers is like hiring people to scoop up free money.
