If you’re curious to try riding in more seasons beyond summer, I *highly* recommend starting to test rainy rides NOW in the fall (or when temps are still in the 50s/60s) before taking on the barely-above-freezing-rain of early winter/spring.

Rainy day? Ride a bike. Most of these parents have to walk 1-2 blocks to their car. Parents who ride bikes get to park feet from the door.

Once I was in line at French Meadow when a woman came in and just started just screaming inarticulate, crazy nonsense at the host. He smiled and nodded politely until the woman blew back outside. I said "yeesh, sorry you have to deal with that kind of thing" and he goes "oh, so that's the owner..."

Holy shit. Friend of a friend encountered a driver on Sabo Bridge today. Driver apparently seemed very confused and lost. Howwww did they get past the concrete barricades on both ends? (For non Mpls folks: this bridge is bike/ped only & paths up are narrow w/ bollards on both ends.)

This behavior is all over the MSP feed today, & then somebody heard + witnessed the aftermath of a kid getting hit today. MN needs to address these issues (& I'm sure your state does as well), especially as we can all tell that driver behavior issues etc have gotten starkly worse since the pandemic.

Bike/pedestrian networks don't take 30 years to build. Stop accepting those timelines in your community. The best practices have been proven & they already exist. Safety should already be the #1 priority. The ROI is unbeatable. The timeline is a moral document and it shouldn't be generational.

I took Thomas to puppy social hour (play time) today & the trainer divided us into 2 groups. About halfway through I looked at the other side of the room & laughed bc the trainer somehow *knew* our side was the wrestle + face biting side. The other side had an opposite play style, so chill. 😆
