We are a group of queer artists, and we are in big trouble.
In April 2025, we immigrated to France, seeking a safe place to live and make art.
Our humanitarian visas expired a year ago.
Since then, we have been trying to get legal status in France.
To be able to work, open a bank account, get health insurance and just have some basic human rights.
We spent a whole year fighting for our lives against Strasbourg Prefecture and we lost.

All this time we couldn't properly work, so we were burning our savings.
In August, all three of us were denied a residence permit.
According to the Prefecture, the only option for us To stay legally in France is to become asylum seekers.
About a week ago, we sent out our applications for the asylum.
Now we are looking at another indefinite stretch of time, before we are summoned to Paris for interviews.
It might be two months, three months, half of a year or even more... no one knows for sure.

We had planned for a year without documents max, and now it's been a year and a half already.
No matter how hard we tried to stretch our savings, they have run out.
Currently, we don't have enough money to pay for rent and food in November.
It's hard for me to admit that, but we are in huge trouble, with all our hopes and plans ruined by the French bureaucracy.
We really need your help and every little bit matters, so I came up with some options for how you can support us.

here's mine, number 136. i didn't keep track of how long it took, but if i had to guess i'd say somewhere between 40 to 60 hours 🥴

photo of my embroidered frame for the la vie en frames project. it's ed silhouetted against the windows with lots of swirly purple light, getting ready for an emotionally fraught dicking down. how do i begin to describe this? there are a million little stitches all coming together to create the image. the light through the windowpanes looks kinda swirly van gogh style. the curtains have the illusion of translucency. my favourite bit is the shadow of the windowframe on the sill beneath, and the soft curly highlights at the back of ed's hair

✨Details✨ I spent months working on this and it’s by far the most intensive embroidery project I have tackled 😵‍💫 I went in with a rough tracing of Ed and Stede from my frame and the rest was pretty much freehand and while there were plenty of moments of “this looks like trash,” I love it now
