There we go. The former Mayor of Manchester, who was very cosy with the owners of Manchester City who have been found guilty of the biggest cheating scandal in British football, would be "really concerned" if they sold the club www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...

🤡 Schmitt beclowns himself 🤡 Schmitt concocted an elaborate conspiracy theory that Smith traveled to Atl for a Hawks game and to collude with Fani Willis, & flashed his "evidence" before accusing Smith of perjury. There's just one problem -- his facts were totally wrong. Here's the whole sequence:

This is @ukri.org effectively abandoning what it means to be part of academia. There, humans read things, critique things, and provide feedback, even if it is not the feedback we want. It is symptomatic of the developing horror that is the UK research funding landscape. It's horrendous.

I think once black clad men are interfering with rescues at sea, we are past "legitimate concerns". Once they're attacking boats, and risking the lives of everyone on board, it's just thuggery. The Home Secretary's statement is on the side of criminals. There's no other way to read it.

Not to harp on this, but one man has now coordinated the disruption of a port, two separate attacks on the RNLI, and interference with the border force and the police have no further questions? And the Home Secretary has not noticed?

I mean, at this point, it's fairly unambiguously paramilitarism. You've got a non-state actor using violence to further political objectives. It's flagrantly in breach of democratic principles several times over. Inaction would be the most ultimate failure of a democratic government.

5. After around 30 hours at sea, the dinghy was intercepted by the RNLI and those on board transferred to two lifeboats. Two lifeboat personnel tried to secure the empty dinghy. Thomas yelled abuse and knifed the dinghy to deflate it - with a rescuer still on board.

Incredible Daily Express story (archive.is/SGo0K) about Sandie Peggie's upcoming action against the RCN, in which she continues to hound Dr Beth Upton who literally moved to the other side of the world to get away from Peggie's harassment, and which includes this frankly baffling paragraph:
Her fight for women's rights has come at significant personal cost. Her father passed away shortly before the first set of tribunal hearings, and in May this year her family dog, a seven-year-old Rottweiler called Broxi, had to be put down.

What on earth is happening?
This had become the new normal. RNLI crew members had been forced to take their permits off their cars after their tyres have been repeatedly slashed. Most of them have been pilloried at the school gates or turned away from local pubs. One man who worked in search and rescue had been beaten unconscious and hospitalised, recognised for TV interviews he had done.

The RNLI has said the abuse of volunteers in Portsmouth has forced it to close the lifeboat station there and stop operating since September 10. Nearby stations have been providing cover to the area instead. One of the UK's largest coastal cities without a lifeboat because of the far-right.
