I didn't know Chris Wickham personally; I just respected his work immensely. But even in grief it's always a delight to see someone honored and remembered so consistently for kindness and generosity, and reminds us all of the legacy we want to leave someday that goes far beyond citation counts.

Boulder Faculty Assembly passed a resolution calling for no extension of the OpenAI contract. Vote was 39-8-1 after suspending the bylaws. Everyone at CU Student Government public comment has been fired up about their corresponding resolution, talking about trust and societal impact. So energizing.

Nearly 40% of survivors who report to their schools are pushed out in one way or another—usually, at the urging of school staff who want them to leave. (In comparison, less than 1% of perpetrators are suspended or expelled.)
