A white guy in my wider acquaintance just was diagnosed with cancer. I wish him all the best; the cancer isn’t the point here. Lots of cultures believe(d) that disabled people are sacred or to be honored. Even “western” civilizations had respect. Was reminded that in the 1300s, it was believed that sick/poor people were considered closer to God. The plague changed that perception.

One of the weirder asks I’ve ever gotten in community theater: “could you just rent out some costumes to us?” This tells me that you know nothing about how costumes are created or sourced. (For specific shows for specific performers and altered to fit.)
