this guy gets it. your typical voter just does not care about this shit. does not mean that they support trans inclusion, it just means that it is incredibly low on the bottom of things they even think about.

Bodnar shoulda ran as a Dem but Bankhead has utterly failed any basic measure that would be asked of any statewide candidate “Muh donors” didnt make her fail to do simple building of relationships or filling out endorsement questionnaires

Opinion | Why I am resigning as Montana Democratic Party chair to endorse an independent Senate candidate
Montana Democratic Party chair resigns, endorses independent Seth Bodnar over Democrat Alani Bankhead to defeat Kurt Alme in Senate race.

Is he a spoiler? Again, even if he wasn't in the race, Bankhead would 100% lose. She is not a good candidate. She's such a not good candidate that the chair of the Montana Democratic Party resigned today and endorsed Bodnar. The support for this blindingly obviously doomed candidate is very bizarre.

I feel terrible for the poor mental health facility in Ohio whose employees are now going to be relentlessly harassed bc a bunch of rw freaks are desperate to fabricate something to bail out Paxton (including Talarico's apparent ability to time travel)

And I hate Republicans. At least you're honest about your priorities.

abyss watcher @joemamaa24.bsky.social · 11/10/2026
He could. And Bankhead would still lose by a healthy margin. She has the lowest fundraising by far and consistently polls the lowest. I genuinely don't understand why people like you are so ride or die on a very bad candidate who has literally no possible way of winning. Is it just delusion or what?

abyss watcher @joemamaa24.bsky.social · 11/10/2026
So what happens when the Republican finishes with <50% and Bankhead comes in a distant 3rd and it looks like the Republican would've lost if she had dropped out? Like I need you to explain why that's a good outcome for you and "improving the Democratic brand"

Bankheads purported argument is that they need to rebuild the Democratic brand there instead of giving up but I'm not sure what made her think she has any chance of doing that by pissing everyone off and coming in a distant third

abyss watcher @joemamaa24.bsky.social · 11/10/2026
I think people just want Republicans to lose at any cost and Bankhead staying in the race ensures Republicans win. There really isn't anything deeper than that idk what you're yapping about

I agree with Drew here. I was really having a hard time wrapping my head around that Marist poll, but this makes the most sense. Especially when considering the relatively small shifts we are seeing in New England and the west coast. Particuarly seeing it with unpopular governors!

It's not exactly a high bar but I am pretty confident Harris would be better than him as president. He did say he wouldn't run if she does, and I think it's more likely than not she runs so we'll see if he follows through. But yeah Newsom sucks ass man

I will admit I hadn’t considered that a left-wing position would be “we shouldn’t annex more territory because we’ll ingest more of the foreign horde“, and that this makes him left-wing relative to “we’ll expand the border and just kill everyone in it“

transphobia is a lot more widespread than I’d like transphobia is also a luxury belief and only really gains traction when people think their lives are otherwise pretty solid it simply cannot hold a candle, electorally speaking, to “car juice expensive”
