It’s been two years since Ontario Place West Island was destroyed for a planned private spa. Hundreds of trees were cut down - here’s a snapshot of the many species who lost habitat. 🧵
Side-by-side comparison of a landscape on the Toronto waterfront. In one scene, an island is covered in trees reflected in a still channel of water. The other image of the same place shows a barren stretch land with a pile of rubble in the centre.

That Canada was modeling its response to a potential invasion by the USA was widely reported in January, so this isn’t really news - except to an American audience, which is presumably the target here.

It is always precarious these days to assume people know things. Canada is an officially bilingual nation. A demand the country remove regulations that require both French and English on product labels is an attack on sovereignty. No possible way Carney could, or should, accept that.

The discussion of how pro-Israel PACs and SuperPACs are impacting elections is important. But the discourse often falls into troubling tropes and even outright antisemitism. Here is a guide on what those tropes are, why they’re wrong, and what you can say instead so your point isn’t undermined.

Foreign regimes now easily produce viral content using #AI trained on Western data. Familiar. Entertaining. Shareable. The most effective propaganda doesn't feel like propaganda. #ThinkBeforeYouShare
Government of Canada poster illustrated in a building-block style. A machine with a glowing AI brain generates a stream of social media posts while popular characters and memes appear in nearby windows. The text explains that foreign regimes use AI trained on Western data to create content tailored to people’s feeds, emphasizing that propaganda does not always feel like propaganda. Includes the labels “AI-generated” and “#ThinkBeforeYouShare.”

We are disgusted that Boulder SJP chose to celebrate the firebombing attack on a peaceful march. They dress up the language to make murder sound like liberation. The reality is they are celebrating the horrific killing of an 82-year-old woman who came out to march. Nothing excuses this.
A propaganda-style poster from Boulder Students for Justice in Palestine. A red stenciled portrait of Mohamed Sabry Soliman appears on a white background. Text on the left reads "IT IS RIGHT TO RESIST." Large black block letters across the bottom read "FREE MOHAMED SABRY SOLIMAN."A graphic from Boulder Students for Justice in Palestine dated 06/01/2026, headlined "ONE YEAR LATER." Text reads: "One year ago today, on June 1st, 2025, Mohamed Sabry Soliman took direct action against one manifestation of the zionist death cult that we have allowed to fester in our city and our state. He hurled a molotov cocktail into the heart of the Run for Their Lives march in Boulder, striking against the colonist procession that gathers weekly to celebrate the pretext for ongoing genocide. Today, Boulder Students for Justice in Palestine publishes this statement in support of Mohamed's decisive act of resistance against a genocidal global order—an act that was, in the words of Ward Churchill and Malcolm X, merely a case of chickens coming home to roost."
