Misspelling ‘choo choo’ in a text to my sister while typing too fast, so now whenever we see a train one of us will loudly announce ‘CHO CHO’.

More like WiFi (derogatory)
Shonky zoomed in photo of a sign on a train carriage that reads ‘WiFi, complimentary’, a sentiment not supported by the fact that I’m hotspotting off my phone right now.

Everything is political. What you buy, how you dress, the way you raise your children, what you read or watch, where you go and how you get there. The fact that sometimes you might be unaware of the political implications of your actions doesn’t mean they aren’t there.

If you look back to the various consultations in the late 10s, Scottish Women’s Aid, Rape Crisis Scotland & others’ position was “we have no issues being trans inclusive and we’ve never seen any significant incidents as a result”. A wholly manufactured problem with predictable & disastrous results.

again we do not really do a good job of explaining how wealthy people like Jeff Bezos are his net worth is $253.2 billion. so he could take one million dollars, and just light it on fire and then do it again tomorrow and again the day after that and then do it every day for 693 years and 8 months

MSF staff are universally understood to be engaged in an essentially sacred form of work. For a state to nonetheless continuously murder them is a testament to a truly unthinkable degree of depravity. msf.org/msf-denounce...
This morning, an attack carried out by Israeli forces killed Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) staff member, Omar Hayek, and seriously injured four others. The attack took place on a street where our teams were waiting to take a bus to the MSF field hospital in Deir al Balah, Gaza.

All staff were wearing MSF vests, clearly identifying them as medical humanitarian workers.
We express deep sorrow and outrage over the killing, which occurs less than two weeks after another MSF colleague, Hussein Alnajjar, was killed by the Israeli forces, in Deir Al Balah.

Our thoughts are with Omar’s family and colleagues at this tragic time. Omar, 42 years old, is the fourteenth MSF colleague to be killed in Gaza since 7 October 2023.

Just for perspective, a few weeks ago roughly 100,000 turned up for the London Trans+ Pride march. By contrast fewer than 3,000 ACROSS THE WHOLE COUNTRY, have turned up to anti-asylum "protests". Yet we are meant to take the latter as "the voice of the people" and the former as "the minority".

I agree, and appreciate someone qualified backing this up, but also, you don’t even need to be trained in behavioural psychology to know this, this *should* just be common sense, that you can’t just frighten people into being well enough to work, that these stresses will just make them worse

This is why disabled people and trans people must be in solidarity with each other at all times - transphobia cannot exist without ableism. The idea that you have the right to another person's medical details and that your opinion on their care should carry any weight at all is ableist at its core.

It's still illegal to discriminate against you for being trans, but is legal to discriminate against you for any expression of that transness is a frankly absurd interpretation of the law and it's extremely evident none of these people sincerely think trans people should exist.

Five things you might not know about PIP and a thread. 1) PIP is not a ‘benefit’ of disability, it’s welfare support to cover the additional costs of living with chronic illness or disability - medicine, transport, therapy, specialist equipment (and no, not all of these are available on the NHS)

Here’s Onion, certain that a life-sized painted cut-out of Zac Efron is offering him a treat.
Leaning against a white wall at Generator Projects’ Members’ Show exhibition is a life-sized painting cut-out of Zac Efron, depicting him in the first film he did after High School Musical, so my friend informed me, though I forget the name (and I also don’t know the artist’s name ah!). A small fluffy brown and white dog looks up at Zac’s slightly clenched hand, hoping that a treat lurks within.
