All those Labour drones claiming Burnham’s boring rant was “the greatest speech of the 21st century” need to get out more. Erasing the likes of Obama, Thunberg, Ardern, Zelenskyy, Gorman, Mandela, Ocasio-Cortez, Mamdani, Cox, Antonelli and even Carney is not a good look.

Remember: Burnham has already implemented extreme transphobic segregation and a transphobic Section 28 in schools. And he hasn’t even been in power for 100 days yet. “Hope again” is a completely inappropriate slogan. It should be; “Hope* again.” *valid only for cis people who are not refugees.

For all that it's been barely reported in the UK press, it's still hard to understate the importance of the stance @labourunionsuk.bsky.social has taken on trans and non-binary rights this week. Every single trade union affiliated to the party of government has stood up and said we will not comply.

Trans rights are human rights, and trans rights are workers' rights.

Govt minister Josh MacAlister claims unemployed young people are paid with PIP to be out of work. Except PIP isn't an out of work benefit, plenty of people who receive PIP are in work & PIP enables them to do that. Josh knows this. What hes doing is whipping up anger towards disabled people.

Burnham said he would stand by the Labour 2024 manifesto. This is what the 2024 Labour manifesto says about the Pensions Triple Lock; “Labour will retain the triple lock for the state pension.” The fact that Burnham is EVEN CONSIDERING ending it tells you all you need to know about him.

Our system of state, private, and workplace pensions provide the basis for security in retirement. Labour will retain the triple lock for the state pension. We will also adopt reforms to workplace pensions to deliver better outcomes for UK savers and pensioners. Our pensions review will consider what further steps are needed to improve security in retirement, as well as to increase productive investment in the UK economy.
