Phantomarine is updated - Ch 7 p 69 Who are you, mysterious little godling? www.phantomarine.com/comic/769-po... #webcomics

A panel from Phantomarine. Cheth and Cheline look down on the Raven, who stands reverently between them. Cheline looks angry. Cheth looks wide-eyed but more neutral. Other acolytes look on, including the Canary.

For the sake of posterity I want to make sure we don't lose Tapas' announcement of Kakao's takeover back in 2021. Begging developers to keep in mind how quickly a buyout sours if their goals for a platform actually matter to them. Tapastic wanted to be the Youtube of comics.

FYI, from Toocheke. They added a Tapas migration feature.

A screenshot of an email that says

Import Your Tapas.io Comics Into WordPress
You may have seen the news about Tapas shutting down. If you or anyone you know publish there, you’re probably wondering what happens to all of your comics and years of work.

We’ve just added a new import feature to Toocheke Companion (available in version 2.23+) that can move an entire Tapas series into WordPress for you — including episodes, images, thumbnails, and original publish dates.

It keeps everything in order, so you don’t have to manually copy and paste hundreds of pages.

I started publishing Tigress Queen on Tapastic in January of 2014. I got a welcome email from Michael Son complimenting specific elements of my comic. The comment culture was so kind. It was such a shame to see how it changed. For all the issues I had with you I'm still sorry to see you go.

You know how some "romance" movies are actually horror movies that don't realize they're horror movies? Whiplash (2014) is a horror movie about two narcissists on the verge of killing each other that THINKS it's some kind of inspirational drama

The whole reason I have a character fascinated with glassmaking in TQ is because one time I got lost at Dollywood and watched a glassmaker talk about how to mix stuff into glass to get different colors while I waited for my grandparents to find me.

tumblr is having a great one about this, little masterpiece of a post I'd say

first post reads: Pro-censorship wattpad refugees drama is so funny to me because when I started using ao3 as a kid I was a devout mormon and I thought that reading anything even remotely pornagraphic was a sin and would ruin my life. So when I was 13 and found ao3 I went "oh awesome I found a fanfic website with a filtering system so I won't ever randomly stumble into porn. This is great! I was really worried about seeing something I didn't want to see on the other platforms." I didn't read any smut online until like three years later. If a mormon 13 year old can figure out 'don't like don't read' wattpad users can too cmon you guys i believe in you.
reblog reads: "you're less internet savy than a 13 year old mormon" is a diabolical thing to say to someone, I support it

A "Draw This In Your Style" post from the original creator, or something you'd see in an art history course, or a meme image of live people, these things are fine. A living person's art isn't a meme, and it makes me uncomfortable when people don't even credit the original.

"Starting out with your magnum opus sucks bc you're 4 years deep and realize you cut corners you didn't want to cut out of desperation, you lacked skills you didn't notice before, your tastes changed, & now you have a more polished idea you want to start." THAT'S a clearer picture of the problem.

So they made the gloves from Legend of Korra and our tax dollars are buying them for the masked men who break into cars to kidnap people

ICE plans to give officers gloves that can deliver electric shocks

August 11, 2026

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers may soon be outfitted with gloves that can deliver painful electric shocks intended to gain compliance from combative individuals.

ICE plans to spend between $10 million and $20 million to purchase "conductive distraction and de-escalation devices" for officers and agents by March, according to a notice published Monday by the Department of Homeland Security.

The devices are known as the G.L.O.V.E., which stands for Generated Low Output Voltage Emitter, and are manufactured by Compliant Technologies LLC of Lexington, Kentucky. They have been used in recent years by some jails and police departments.

The notice said the solicitation for a no-bid contract could be published as early as Friday.

CBS News has reached out to DHS and Compliant Technologies for comment.

If SCREEN were to pass, you'd be required to scan your face and upload an ID to access this site because it allows "harmful" material. This affects you even if you don't care about sex work or porn.

The SCREEN Act is not just another age-verification bill — it goes much further than anything passed at the state-level or in other countries. 1. The bill doesn't just target porn sites. It goes after *any* site that allows material "harmful" to minors. You'd have to scan your face to use Google.

Cropped sketch of the artist's original characters Ryou and Sabine. Ryou leans back with his arms raised to Sabine, who bends forward with one arm draped over his chest and the other hand cupping his cheek. Both have their eyes closed, with Ryou's face flushed and flustered while Sabine's is more serene. Little hearts are drawn by her face.
