there is no sensible reason why a 5 year spouse visa cost us a little over fourteen grand. none whatsoever. and that's before you break it down to the addition of renewals every 30 months, the health surcharge, the endless price hikes, the final kick in the teeth for ILR (three grand! to settle!)

brennan.day/normalized-f... There is no ambiguity here. DHH doesn't claim his words were taken out of context, there is no charitable reading possible. He's a racist calling for ethnic cleansing. The purpose of Omarchy is to create a space where people like him can be openly racist.

Before you say positive things about DHH because of Omarchy, a reminder that it's been like 3 weeks since he published a blog that compares Roma people to the wolves Denmark eradicated in the 1800s. He's an open, virulent racist and always has been. Everything he touches should be radioactive.

The most crucial part in each "AI Winter," & the thing that I genuinely think cannot come soon enough, is when we as a culture remember that we're able to disambiguate the term "AI" & we go back to actually descriptively naming the process(es) we mean. Really can't wait for that to come around again

I watched the Channel 4 ADHD program. It's hard to describe quite how horrible it is. Even the framing is fake, when the show opens with a bunch of people you're introduced to as experts saying ADHD is a myth with absolutely no counterargument you know it's utter bullshit.

The two people quoted are not ADHD experts. And given the point of the documentary seemed to be that non-medical interventions work best (against all evidence, based on a sample of one child), I’m not sure what they’re arguing against here. This is pure culture wars shit.
